The NB in my IC-796MKIIG seems to do OK. Perhaps others are better, but
mine definitely does reduce noise -- ignition and other.

Icom doesn't seem to make noise blankers. The "NB" button on my 756Pro seems
to stand for "No-purpose Button"

Alan, IC796 must have been a typo, hit the nine key instead of the zero,
I do that sometimes too. Your's is the only one that seems to be working

I take it then the noise blanker is not too good in most of the 706
series.

I wonder how the FT-857 is?

My FT-900 is quite good, but I don't think I can get it in my new
vehicle.

Thanks

Dale,
The noise blanker on my 706IIG works well on the ignition noise from
my Cherokee sport. I run the power lead directly to the battery,
while keeping it as far away as possible from any other wiring.

It will soon be in a Chevy 1500 pickup. I would think it will do
well there too.
