Default You'll probably never have to use CW to save a life.

Jim, this is one of the fairest replies that I've seen from you in a

But why is it that the judicial system relies upon people seeing that
they have a conflict of interest and recuse themselves, but amateurs
cannot?

The judicial system isn't under discussion and radio amateurs aren't
under discussion. ARRL elections are under discussion. The ARRL has a
system which has worked for decades. Carl was recused--for a long time.

Is amateur radio more important than the judicial system that
you have to refuse top notch talent so that a conflict can never occur?

The judicial system wasn't under discussion. When you start "Brian's
Amateur Radio League" feel free to set the by-laws up anyway you like.

so that a person cannot show that they have integrity and recuse
themselves?

Show some integrity and recuse yourself.
