Hi,

If ICOM ever produced one of the subject items to go with the
ICOM R-71A receiver or some similar equipment, I would appreciate
knowing the model number so that I may find out the RF input
requirements.

I am trying to ascertain the specified output level from the
'scope' socket (70.4515MHz) of one of these receivers but neither
the workshop or operator's manual mentions it. Measurements show
that it is quite low, just as an inspection of the schematic
might suggest, but there is still a nagging doubt that the
receiver is not quite up to specification as the antenna to scope
socket loss is around 30dB.

When I worked at Icom America I went to the factory for that
information and it was in the tech support files there though they
have been archiving to older product files lately. But I seem to
remember your measurement is quite right. that output is quite low.
Icom never produced a monitoring scope. Others did, There was a
company in atlanta that did produce a scope that used that port
however it was far more popular with the R-7000.
