Default software for the Kenwood R 5000

SWlog is great! in addition, Fineware used to sell a nice program for the
R-5000 and a free program RLDB that controls the R-5000 but they are no
longer around. There is an old Kentrol program that can still be found.
There are several other current programs that work with the R-5000.

SWLog, a radio control, logging and database program has recently
been updated to include support for the R-5000. This program
is the most extensive SWL multi-function program available. Features
include local and remote receiver control; integrated database
support for HFCC,ILGRadio, EiBi, PTSW and seven other formats;
propagation prediction; audio capture; chat; extensive logging
capability; report generation and QSL generation in ten languages.

Bob Sillett, the developer of SWLog, has been working on this program
for years and keeps adding new features. The best part is the price:
FREE.

Hams might consider Ham Radio Deluxe (HRD). It is a very extensive,
FREE software package. SWLog and HRD can run simultaneously and share
information via a DDE interface.

HRD available from http://hrd.ham-radio.ch/
