Default Recommended Method for PCB mounting of Toroidal Coils

Hi..
In the past, I've always mounted my coils vertically but
this time around, I need to mount some horizontally. I was
simply going to glue them to the pcb but wanted first to get
input as to other home brewer's method of mounting toroids to
a pcb. The toroids will be FT-37-43 type wide band transformers
in the 10MHz range. Your input is welcome. Take care.

Hi Jim, I guess the first thing I would consider is differences with
the leads getting to pads. Horizontal is more stable than vertical,
but takes up more space. I guess the big factor would be the space
requirement. I would never mount one vertical if there were space for
horizontal. That determination would be dependent on the layout of
your circuit board. Good luck.
