Default Degen DE11 vs Tecsun PL200, any opinions?

This msg was supposed to be part of this thread... but the google bug
bit:

The DE-11 is $35.99+$20 shipping on eBay (Liypin). It does not seem to
be dual conversion, which is probably why it is less expensive than the

DE-1105. All the dual conversion radios say dual conversion on Degen's
website (do a web translation of their website). This radio does not.
The same with Liypin's ads. Liypin never replied whether it was dual
conversion or not.

The DE-11 doesn't have a tuning knob -- but does have an antenna jack.
The DE-11 also shows the time at the same time as showing the
frequency.

Ok, my PL200 is cheap and cheerful but has been a good pocket radio and
I've had no problems with it but unfortunately it has been dropped too
many times. SW is handy but it mainly gets used on MW.

I was thinking about getting another one but the Degen / Kaito looks
very similar. Does anyone have any experience with one of these? I
don't need stronger reception but the Tecsun is a bit clunky and
awkward, and has bad hiss on AM though earphones. I was considering the
DE1102 but I'd rather have a slightly more conventional radio at the
cost of a little performance, and it's a bit larger.

Many thanks everyone!
