True enough. Unfortunately, however, the past would indicate that the
bad sorts don't change in the least, they just refine their methods of
wrongdoing in the hope that they won't get exposed.

The politicians who don't actually do anything bad but KNOW of the
wrongdoings are just as guilty as the perpetrators when they fail to
report the misdeeds. It's like giving consent by their silence.

Politicians should be the most morally outstanding citizens of a
country. They have been given a great trust, which, sadly, is getting
betrayed more and more frequently by the dregs who seem to gravitate to
public office.
