Default Ear Phones And Ear Buds ?

This past summer, my wife and I got matching Creative Nano Plus MP3
players. We really liked the sound quality of the ear-buds that came
with them. But they wouldn't stay in my ear, especially when I walked or
ran, so I tried using my big Koss home stereo headphones, and they
sounded awesome, but they were too hot, dorky, and heavy to wear
outside. So I tried a set of Sony Street Style Headphones (MDR-G74S),
and they worked very well for me. Inside, I still use the big Koss set,
but outside I now use the Sony's.

My wife, though, really likes ear-buds, even though the little foam
cushion broke off and they wouldn't stay in her ear, so I gave her mine,
and the same thing happened. But she swears by ear-buds and she has now
gotten another set.

Certainly someone will correct me if I am mistaken, but I am under the
impression that for SW listening, especially DXing, you're better
served by headphones/earbuds that deemphasize the higher frequencies.
Thus high fidelity models may not be in order here. FWIW, if you must
have high fidelity, I have found that JVC Gumy earbuds are
exceptionally good for the price, less than ten dollars at Walmart.
They are molded out of silicone, hence very comfortable hour after
hour, seem to be right and left ear specific for best fit, and offer
top notch musical reproduction on my walkman type radios. I wear them
several hours every day and they have never fallen out on my walk. In
fact they're so comfortable I no longer notice them when they're in.
