Don't buy the complete battery....just get the cell packs. Any ham should be
able to swap out the cells. The FT23 is the same as the FT470 for battery
packs...easy to do. I did many packs for my old -470.

That said, someone had new batts on ebay for around $30. Worth checking out,
even if you dislike that service.
