Buy a CB and save your 706 for real amateur bands.

If my scanner would cover this band, that would be fine but, my

I *think* this is a myth. I have been running 4 and 5 Megs for years with
a
706 with no prob. I run CAP
on 4 MHZ and 5 on the Fema freqs and have never
"let the smoke out".
