No, You missed another ten questions, the CW questions, but since the
Tech license is dumbed down you weren't tested on them.

Don't know which HT to recommend, but a lot of No-codes like the
Cobra 148GTL for HF.
That was classic!!!!!

However, the way Slow Code slams new hams is totally unacceptable. He
tries to drive them out instead of encouraging them to go for the gusto.

I'm motivating them. And when I catch them on the air, they have an
enjoyable and educational contact.

Comments like the dumbed down item and the CB item will NOT motivate them.
To motivate them, simply say "Great, how can I help you explore all the
aspects of ham radio".

When they find out CW, RTTY, packet, PSK, SSTV, are fun, they have just
stepped in to a much larger ham radio, than one with just a ham talking on
a microphone.

That is a much better approach so long as you don't go on and on about
"dumbed down" licenses. The people taking the test have no control over the
level of tests required. Simply show them the wonders of ham radio without
comment on your personal opinions about dumbing down, CB, etc.
