thanks for the Info Anton. I have a box of 450Mhz MCX's..same problem and
the EPROM is NOT available. Damn thing uses a PROM for the PL deck
too..didnt want to get into the same mess with a GTX...Eddie

The GTX series (portable and mobile) use an EEPROM for their
parameters. They require Motorola-proprietary software (about $265 last
I looked), an appropriate programming interface (a RIB - Radio Interface
Box), and the correct cable to program.

In addition, the stock RSS will not allow the entry of ham
frequencies. It can, however, be modified relatively easily to allow
such.
