Default Need small rugged SW for long distance bike tour

If your seriously considering the SW-100E (E=European version), also
consider the Sony AN-LP1 antenna. This antenna was included with the now
discontinued SW-100S (S=System -N.A. version).

Without the AN-LP1/2 antenna, reception off the whip of either radio will be
compromised but still very usable.

The SW-07 (includes AN-LP2 antenna) and the SW-100 are both digital tuning
and both have a synch detector.

I personally like the ergonomics of the SW-100 but the SW07 automatically
tunes the AN-LP2 (included). The AN-LP1 has a dial for band switching.

The SW-100's case is more rugged than the SW-07. But with either radio, or
any radio for that matter, I would treat them with care.

Performance of these two radios with the AN-LP1/2 antenna are virtually
identical. The performance edge is given to the SW-100 when comparing both
radios off the whip. The SW-07 has more memory and also has a station
memory ROM chip that can be updated annually. The SW-100 has 100 memories.

Yahoo groups has a group for each of these radios with lots of good info.

Of all the units mentioned is this the only one that
has digital tuning?
