Has anyone tried the RP2100 with the new, remote SSB module? It this
arrangement stable enough for decent SSB operation and is the tuning
ratio low enough without backlash? Any comments on this would be
appreciated. The reviews on the RP2100 by itself seem to be pretty
good considering the price.

I'm trying to figure out the attraction of a shortwave radio that you
have to buy a separate battery powered outboard module in order to
decode ssb. There are receivers available for comparable prices that
have ssb included.
I have the 2100 with the module. For 56 bucks without it I wasn't gonna
complain... it's a good asskicker on MW, has better sensitivity on the whip
than anything else I've had, has really nice audio for program listening and
is plain good looking.
I have the module-had to try it-it works fine but I haven't used it for
extended listening yet. It tunes like any other unit with a generic BFO
control.
