Default Does icom w32e work well with optional antenna

Hi:

Does the signal indicator go way up even when there is no signal? If it does
you have either a high noise level or a very strong signal that is near by
and is overloading the front end electronics in your radio. This strong
signal overload is very common in areas where there are lots of
transmitters. The short antenna doesn't pick up the offending signal but
when you go to the bigger signal it picks up more of the offending signal
and overloads your radio.

hi the
I bought a w32e transceiver the other days, the receiving sensivity
is perfect when I used it with the orginal bnc short antenna, but when
I changed it with another longer antenna(M-type) + 5 meters cable , the
receiving sensivity drops down dramatically. The situation is : the
signal indicator booms up almost to full scale, but the content of the
signal is poorly readable, I've checked the optional long antenna and
the cable with SX-400, they are all OK, then I send the w32e to be
checked by the technician, it is OK too, so I begin to wonder oes
icom w32e work well with optional antenna? Are there anyone have the
same problem as me ? or can any part go wrong ?

Regards.
