Hi. The new Sangean DT200VX is the replacement for the famous, DT200V.
C Crane claims "better AM reception." Although I have the old model,
I have ordered a new one because of the even better Am reception.
Also, the new one has a backlight, and is supposed to have better
sound. Any opinions? What do you think?

I just received the Sony ICF-S10MK2 pocket-radio and it is on-par with
my more expensive digital PLL radios - if you are interested, here is a
review of it on RadioIntel.com:

http://www.radiointel.com/review-sonys10mk2.htm

This review is bizarre. Even ignoring that it compares the Sony to an
R75... And that it evaluates the sony for dxing... I'm still befuddled
by this: It evaluates the $10 Sony portable in conjunction with a loop
antenna that's gotta be 6 times as large as the radio! (And more
expensive.)

Who carries a loop antenna around to use with their shirt pocket
portable??? If you're willing to do that, might as well just by a
larger radio.

Would have been nice to see the data for the Sony as it is actually
going to be used -- by itself.

Well, with its internal ferrite-bar antenna, I can get up to 1200 miles
nighttime AM - not bad for a $10 radio !
