True even in southern California.


It's pretty scary when you can hear the intermittent arcing in some
of them. Where's the fire department going to have to go, now?

One question, (not really worth spending much time on): Do the strings
of lights just act as an antenna and make a more efficient radiator
of dimmer noise from the inside of the house, or is there some active
circuitry (timers or controllers) that create a new source of noise?
