Default Reflection xfmr for two wire beverage?

I have successfully installed traditional one wire beverages, both
terminated and unterminated. I've managed to wind 9:1 transformers
that work well using both normal toroids and binocular cores. However,
I'm flummoxed when it comes to two-wire beverages using a reflection
transformer. The two "head-end" transformers seem to be fairly
straight forward and I suppose can be checked using my MFJ-259B for a
good match. However, look as I might, I can't find anything specific
on 1) how many turns, etc. for the reflection transformer and 2) how
to measure it to make sure it is working properly. There is nothing
helpful in either ON4UN's book or the ARRL Antenna Handbook. W8JI's
web site includes just enough information to make me want to buy the
units that he designed that are being sold for big money by DX
Engineering. As usual, not having big money at hand, I prefer to home
brew and have the 73-mix FairRite Products 2873000202 cores to hand
and plenty of wire. What I need is some Elmering.

I would sincerely appreciate hearing from anyone who has practical
experience with the two-wire reflection transformer equipped beverage
antenna and can offer me any help with the transformer windings.

Ken K4XL
