Default Avanti "Moonraker IV" Antenna

From: (Jimmie*D)
Moonrakers can be turned into a nice

antenna. The way they come the boom is too

short for a 4 element amtenna. Most of those

rotators I ve seen were DOA, gears stripped,

lightning damage.

Your point has -nothing- to do with his ad, Jimmie.
You bid $50 for open, or is that too rich for your blood?

Of course it has everything to do with the

original post. He wanted to know what it was

worth and I said $50 and why.

Your estimate was made on an assumption that the majority of the beam is
in poor condition, therefore.

*He asked two questions. What its worth and if
anyone is interested. Im obviously not

interested. Sorry if you dont like my evaluation
of what he is selling but it goes along with my

experience with this type of equipment.

Your experience leaves much to be desired since by your own words,
you're used to dealing with beams that are practically worthless junk.
That beam is a classic and most excellent performer. A little TLC, elbow
grease and maybe some some new hardware brackets can do wonders. Bent
parts can be rehabbed or replaced just like rotors. Even if one needs
put some cash into it, one can save over purchasing it new.
