Jabber and IRC are two entirely different animals. Jabber is an
instant messenging protocol. Not even the best of those currently
available (I'd say Trillian deserves that title). Yes, it has
multiuser chat enabled - ICQ had that ten years ago - but it is still
an instant messenger whose group chatting pales in comparison to IRC.
