How's your reception of 11880 kHz? It's usually the best frequency
at that time, here in Seattle.

11880.0 is pretty marginal here now on a 40' indoor longwi S7 to
S5. SINPO: 24222.

Switching to the Datong dipole and reorienting the antenna to an
azimuth of ~340* - ~160* True results in improved readability and less
noise: S7 to S5. SINPO: 25333.

Thanks for the tip.

Also check 9710 kHz.

Nothing but noise on 9710.0 here.

I'd just finished listening to The Science Show (16:05-17:00) on
5995 kHz, but it was a bit weak (S7-S8) so the neighborhood light
dimmers added their steady background hash.

On 5995.0 now, all I get is noise.

I've got antenna materials on order, and hope an end-fed long-wire
OUTDOORS will improve my signal-to-noise ratio. Although I could have
constructed it myself, I found it convenient to purchase this one:
http://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/sw_ant/2205.html .

New Zealand is booming in here on 17675.0 at the moment.
