The basic story: back when this group was more active, it was moderated
by Bill Pfeiffer, who was a hell of a guy and made this group a unique
and wonderful thing. Bill died a few years back, I am sorry to report.
Much as the current moderation staff tries, I fear they aren't able to
do the kind of job Bill did. But for that matter, nobody in any other
forum anywhere has ever come close to doing the kind of job Bill did.
He is greatly missed.
Staff? If I have lackeys running around anywhere, I sure don't know
about them.

Mine is a staff of one.
Thanks for the kind words. I try, but I don't think I will ever be
able to be as dedicated as Bill was. I was a reader of RRB long before
I ever considered moderating the forum. His level of dedication was
way beyond incredible.
My problem has primarily been that work keeps me busy, and the group
has recently gone long periods of time without any new submissions
being pushed through. That's my fault, and I finally just set up my
server to email me every day to remind me to check the moderator's
mailbox. I swear I have a mind like a sieve... and that's on my good
days.
I would love to have feedback on how we can make this a better and
livelier place. The email address I use to post to Usenet is valid.
Feel free to email me any and all suggestions, or post them here.
