ICOM-751 dead, help
I was using my radio just fine, than I unplugged it and moved it a few feet
and now it is almost dead. I can hear a relay engage when I first turn it on
and fall off about 10 seconds after I turn it off.
What happened?
If it has never been replaced it is possible that what happened is that you had
a battery failure in the RAM board. There is a resonable chance that unplugging
the radio and moving it was just the last straw for the old battery. This will
leave you with a very dead radio.
See the following for details....

Also it is possible to change the battery and reprogram your own board but it
may be a little involved....

I think you can still send them back to Icom for battery installation and
reprogramming as well.
I would suggest a Google search for - Icom 751 memory board - there is a lot of
information out there.
