The decline in recent years of Indos on the bands below 5 MHz is sad,
though. I count just 18 stations below 5 megs on this list, and only two of
them are the more challenging "non-RRI" stations. I've heard RPDT2 Manggarai
and RSPK Ngada many times, but they are always fun catches. I wonder how
long *they'll* be around?
It wasn't that long ago that we had many more Indonesian targets. My old
copy of the Numero Uno Indonesia List shows 61 different Indos logged by
members from 1998 through March of 2001, including a few unid. Indonesians.
The number of outlets to try for, as shown in the early 1990s NU Indo Lists,
were even greater.
Do you remember the short-lived Indos such as RPDT2 Buol Toli Toli, or RRI
Samarinda? They're sorely missed! One of my personal favorite recordings of
Indo DX is of Buol Toli Toli.
