God forbid the lazy broadcasters would want to do more.

Since it is an issue of how advertisers buy, nothing the broadcasters
could
or can do would change this.

What's wrong with providing service to people even though it's not
going to get you huge amounts of money, at a time of day when you
don't make any money anyway?

C. Crane buys ads on flamethowers.

Ads which benefit the syndicator of Coast to Coast, not the local stations
who have to carry the network spots for free.

On the other stations carrying Crane ads, they are "PI" or Per Inquiry where
the station gets a cut of any sales generated. Usually, each spot gets them
a couple of dollars, which is fine since they can't sell spots at 1 AM.

I'm not talking about Coast-to-Coast and that's not the point. Doing
good radio for the sake of the art generates value.
