David....c'mon, here....Popularity ISN"T quality. And just because
something is selling doesn't mean it's not 'pap.'
I believe the Fred Silverman era drove that point home.
Acknowledging the point doesn't ignore the fact that most people find
something to line on the radio. It just means that 94% of all Americans
like the 'pap' they're listening to.
Actually, it means that they're tolerating the garbage being fed to them by
those that think they know better than their listeners what the listeners
want to hear.
