Default Eddie Hubbard killed

WGN is reporting that x-morning man and Sat radio jock Eddie Hubbard died in
a car accident in Texas earlier in the month.

His wife Lilli, a native Chicagoan, sustained injuries and is in the
hospital, expected to recover.

Eddie joined WGN in 1956, later moved to Mokena, IL and Texas for Satellite
radio.

Eddie Hubbard's broadcast career began in his hometown of Baltimore,
Maryland, but it was here in Chicago where Hubbard became a radio legend.

Hubbard came to WGN in 1956, where he co-hosted a talk show with another
radio legend, Jack Brickhouse.

Hubbard moved on eventually to satellite radio in the 1980s, which took him
from Chicago to Texas. Since then, Hubbard hosted programs heard on radio
stations from coast to coast.

Hubbard and his wife, Lill, were injured in an auto accident in their
adopted home of Grand Prairie, Texas on March 19th. Lill is recovering, but
Eddie Hubbard died from his injuries on Monday.

Eddie Hubbard was 89.
