Has anyone taken a scanner to Europe and if so other than the language

We will be in Germany, Italy and Croatia.

Germany is rather restrictive. First, the scanner needs to be
approved. It needs to have one of the following markings: CE, BZT or
BMPT. Second, so called 'BOS Kommunikation' (authorities, police,
ambulances, fire brigade) may only be received by people with a 'BOS
Genehmigung' (BOS licence).

If a scanner is found with non-licensed frequencies programmed, it is
considered a violation of the law.
