You talking about ham radios? Did Yaesu make ham radios in the 50s? I
had an IC-2F in the late 60s... I thought that was one of the first ham
radios they made.... in VHF anyway, although I know there were some very
nice HF rigs made in the mid 60s.

But your assuming that what we saw in North America was their earliest
product. I'm not sure, but it's likely there was equipment that only
appeared in the Japanese market (or in other parts of the world) that
we never saw. Or, it may have appeared on North American shores, but
under a different name.
