I bought a rotor and controller at a hamfest.
It is a Cornel Dublier Electronics H3/CD44 Series 2.
The position indicator doesn't move with rotation,
the indicator needle is almost full scale and can be moved
with the calibration adjustment.
I suspect the problem is in the rotor.
I need a description of operation, to try and troubleshoot the unit.
The function of the 8 connections would help.
A schematic would be even better.
Thanks, Mike
Go here and download the manual. It is for a Hy-gain 45 but it should be
the same schematic for the 8 wire rotator. Most of the CDE and Hy-gain
rotators ues the same basic electric design and the mechanical part is
different .

Thanks Ralph,
At first glance the manual seems to be identical except for the mechanical
as you mentioned.
Interesting how they grounded the wiper of the positioning pot. That's not
what I would have been looking for if I started troubleshooting without a
schematic.
Thanks again, Mike
