In many cases, open source Linux software can be recompiled for
Windows under Cygwin. (free)
Typically, you don't even need to know how to program but it can't
hurt. You download the Cygwin setup program and use it to download the
C++ compiler, the make program and any libraries you might need for a
particular program and then run Cygwin make on the Linux makefile.
