I haven't heard of one. The receiver has been around since 1987 so I
would assume that stories of R5000 receivers burning up from "super
heat" would be all over the net by now. How many failures have you
read of that are traceable to overheating. Indeed how many of those
receivers have failed for any reason. Not many in my experience.



Dont know either, but I know mine ran HOT. And just for the lost energy
alone it was enough for me to decide and buy an external 13,8v supply.
Now I can safely put something on top of the rx again (like a logbook or
guide) without having to worry about all that heat...
