IBOCISCRAZY,
"HD" FM {Digital} Radio using IBOC works and is a
significant improvement over Analog FM Radio and
makes $ense.
However, the "HD" AM/MW {Digital} Radio using IBOC
does not work and is a questionable enterprise using
the current AM/MW Band Plan.

Dumb **** - consumers do not have a problem with their analog radios
and could careless about digital radio around the world - you and a
handful of radio-geeks are the only ones who care. Sales of HD radios
are about zero ! Analog AM/FM works fine and adding more channels of
the same repetitive dribble is a joke !

"So, the old don't want HD. Young consumers think the concept is
laughable. Big retailers can't sell it. And radio companies won't
invest in it."

IBOC-IS-CRAZY,
Let me put it into simple Language that you can
understand :
First - "HD" FM {Digital} Radio using IBOC = Good.
* Why - "HD" FM {Digital} Radio using IBOC works and
is a significant improvement over Analog FM Radio and
makes $ense for the FM Radio Broadcaster and the
FM Radio Listener.
Second - "HD" AM/MW {Digital} Radio using IBOC = Questionable
* Why - "HD" AM/MW {Digital} Radio using IBOC does
not work nation wide and is a questionable Business
Enterprise using the current AM/MW Band Plan.
TBL - "HD" Radio using the IBOC Technology will
succeed or Fail based on the acceptance and use
of FM "HD" Radios - with AM/MW Radio as a go
along -or- not.

No one buys radios anymore, except for radio-geeks. No one cares about
extra channels of the same, repetitive, tired programming:

HD/IBOC is laughable and DOA ! FM-HD and AM-HD jam our airways:

Once again FM "HD" Radio seems to work very well.
FWIW - To me the biggest limit on FM "HD" Radio is
the 1% Digital Signal restriction with respect to the
Analog ERP. Were the Digital Signal output increased
to about 4%~8% the Digital Signal Contour and the
Analog Signal Contour should be about the same.
The performance of AM/MW "HD" Radio is 'questionable'.
