Hello to all my antenna friends. I've just now returned home after nine
weeks
in the hospital following major
spinal surgery. The surgery was successful, but I contracted hideous
intestinal infection C Diff, or colitis,
in the hospital. Forty nine days were required to clear the infection,
after
which I could begin physical
therapy.

mind off things

Thanks for the kind words, Myles, I appreciate your thoughts.
Re colitis, otherwise known as 'C Diff', it is one of the most highly
contagious diseases of the intestinal
system. It occurs when antibiotics are used prior to surgery in which the
antibiotic kills the good bacteria
in the system, leaving the toxic bacteria to take over, resulting in
continual diarreah(sp). I was fortunate
to survive it at my agee 88+, for it is quite common for older people in poor
health to not survive. I am
fortuntate to have been in good health. It took 49 days for me to get rid of
the C Diff.

Indeed, my 82 year old mother recently had this, at one point the
doctor's called me saying she had 12 to 48 hours to live...somehow she
pulled a miraculous recovery...still in the hospital and nursing homes
on and off for the last 2 months, but now well enough to have surgery
she needs tomorow morning. I'm so glad you have recovered.
