Default Tech Advice Required

You had your RX checked on a Bird wattmeter? NO output or TX? A "Bird
Wattmeter" checks "Transmit out" as in RF watts, NOT receive. If you have no
out put on that repeater's input frequency, then you seem to have a problem
with your transmitter.

You're saying you hit other repeaters but not the one closest to you. How
are "others" close to you doiing with the saame repeater? Were you in a spot
maybe "that" repeater is shadowed by? Sometimes, you can be "under" the
umbrella of the signal - it skipping over you. I read up on that phenomena
once and it said the radiation angle of the repeater antenna had to be
lowered to catch the "closer in" signals. My repeater is only about 5 road
miles away from me, but I have conditions here at my house rhat keep me from
hitting it in some spots.

Just my 2 cents.

Radio = Kenwood TH79A Just obtained the radio for volunteer work
within the community providing radio communication. Well, it will hit
every repeater with the org.ant, except one. The PL tone, offset and
freq checked correct 100% by other operators. Still have lots of
problems working it even on HIGH power. All other radios involved that
day had no problem at all. I'm stumped? Again, I can activate any
repeater which are 2x farther out, but the closer ones I have problems
with. Huh? It's opposite??? Any ideas? Guess I need it scoped-out
by a tech.
