Fred Thompson ok on cable not on network
wrote:
Just read that next week Fred intends to announce his bid for
president. So, apparently, NBC is not going to show any more episodes
of Law and Order with him in it, because they don't want to deal with
the "equal time" issue. But TNT doesn't have a problem with "equal
time" so they will continue to run Fred on Law and Order on their
network. I think TNT did the same with Arnold when he was running for
Governor of California. So, FCC rules apply to non-cable but not
cable??????
There is no 'equal time' requirement anymore.
FCC rules do not require it. On the network, OR on cable.
NBC doesn't want to air Thompson because they don't want to deal with
the repercussions from Hollywood politics.
