Sure, I dislike the Drake 8 series ergonomics intensely, to put it
mildly. I don't think it's anywhere near the receiver the R7's were, and
it's very cheap looks and feel turn me off too.

The R-75 is ok, not great, and I hate the amber color display.

The FRG-100B isn't that bad, but it's not great in the filter dept.
