I can put another tapped element in there, probably. I need to see what
type of control it is... who made it, so I can match that type of element.
Or, I could possibly make a whole new control from my stock. The stuff I
have was made up to about 1979... nobody else has all this stock as far as
I know. At the time that your control was made, the replacement lines had
not introduced the concentric shaft stuff.

OK, Mark, that sounds like the way to go. Can you reengineer/rebuild the
tap
also?

Harley, send that whole control here. I can often replace the bad
element
in that and reassemble it, so you dont have to make any shafts or
anything.

Yes it is special, since the tone control fits over the shaft of the
volume
control and is held in place by clips that fit in grooves on the vc
shaft.
If I can't find an exact replacement, what I do find will have to have
a
shaft of the right length and be machined to hold the retaining clips.
