Hello everyone,
I have found two devices which look like gunnplexers, but without a mixer diode.
Well, actually, it only looks like a diode in a cavity to me, because I do not
have sufficient experience in microwaves. If anyone could tell me more about it,
like what it could be used for, I'd be glad to know.
Pictures of that 'thing' are on the following website:
http://bram.ch.eu.org/galleries/?gn=gunn
On the fourth picture, you can see the diode symbol printed on the white
cylinder, at the left.
The two diodes on the top are presumably zener diodes, and they have an orange
marking on the edge, followed by a brown and a violet one.
Dimensions a
- cavity: 1.9cm x 1cm
- depth (exterior): 4,2cm
- wall thickness seems to be around 2mm, but I have no way to measure right now
I'm looking forward to becoming active on 10GHz, and have found some nice
websites explaining the basics of Gunnplexers and the like, with needed
circuitry to get them working. But all of them are more complex than this device.
Thanks in advance,
kind regards, 73's
