Interesting that the daytime signal can be heard, but no nighttime
signal - anyway, I emailed the article to WABC, not that it matters

Daytime can be heard because the sun limits propagation to 100
miles. But during the nighttime, then all the various stations from
~1000 miles away start overlapping one another.

Well, that's all very interesting Mr. Digital engineer so how come I can
hear stations much further away than 100 miles in the daytime then?

So much for the Clear Channel concept which would be very useful in the case
of REAL NATIONAL EMERGENCY. Considering that most of the AM superstations
can cover at least half the country if not more, I wonder what they will do
if TSHTF.

Most television cable are buried under the ground. Thus they are
protected, and they will continue operating, and people will watch CNN
or FOX News or MSNBC.

Well, that's all very interesting Mr. Digital engineer so how come some
TV signals are received over the air first or received from a satellite
first.

Most americans wouldn't even think to get the old AM radio out (if
they even have an AM radio... my latest Ipod is FM only).

I'd get started on building that bunker if I was you.

I guess it helps the media conglomerates and the government in that
they can centalize information further. That way if TSHTF no one
knows when the satellite dishes take a hit from Chinese space
missiles or some other country using an EMP device.

You've been watching too much Jericho.

You have been watching to much TV period.
