Me too, was a bleak gray Friday in Oxford, myself and some fellow
freshman electrical engineering students at Ole Miss were leaving campus
to do a taxi radio install in a neighboring town of Batesville MS. When
we came across a huge gathering around the flagpole and noticed the US
flag had been hauled down to half mast and the Rebel flag was atop with
much cheering as if the team was having a pep rally for an upcoming
game.
When we inquired who were we playing that weekend only then did we learn
that the person that had ordered the National Guard troops against our
school the year before had not only been shot, but was indeed dead.
Seems like only yesterday.
There's a much better place on usenet to be discussing this....
