Microwave oven fuses are on the transformer primary and are normally
intended for 250VAC maximum use. *3AG types will sustain an arc for a hell
of a long time with 1KVDC across them. *Remember, AC arcs will quench a
lot easier than DC.

oK , The fuse ive had to use in the past is 500mA @ 5 Kv , it would
be nicer to fit the original , even the microwave ones are not
cheap !
