My problem is that I have an Icom 706 MK-II, that won't power up.
When I push the power button I can hear a relay click in the radio,
and a thump in the speaker but that is it. I've checked the fuses
internal and external all are ok. Does anyone have any suggestions as
to a fix this problem.

Thanks in advance and 73's

First thing to check is the power supply. Check the voltage at the
radio power input. Check all wiring to make sure it can handle the
current. Make sure no loose connections in the wiring, or connectors.
If the radio see's a large voltage drop on startup, it will do what
you see. Also, if the voltage or battery drops to a lower than normal
level, the radio can "cycle" on and off, on and off. MK
