Default A little off topic, Buying from a government auction

The thing that gets me is that it just makes no sense. Its equipment
available anywhere, no big secrets, etc.

And yeah, I won't ever bid again, which I will convey to Govt Liquidation,
who I bid through. If they do enough business they can maybe exert some
pressure, as a matter of protecting their cut.

And all this after I waited 3 months for the EUC to be approved, which I
tought was for this purpose, make sure it was not going to the wrong hands,
etc. Makes the EUC pointless.

Oh well, I found another on Ebay for same price. The only down side is that
they won't pay the shipping from them to me.

And I called, they guy said pretty much what you said, if I don't have it,
note it on the return letter and that's the end of it. So...why bother...It
just makes no sense...

Well, thanks for the understanding ear.

You can also simply say you no longer have possession of it as it was sold
somewhere but since you have it that is a problem.

I received the same letter for equipment I bought in the past (over a year
ago) and I sent them a nasty letter back to the effect that I had no idea
where it was and since I trade all the time at hamfests so they are out of
luck.

They accepted it.

For some unknown reason there has been a change in Govt. Policy and they
have made it retroactive. They have been starting to do that on many
electronic auction items over the past year or so and it is a stupid
policy which means they will cost you and I the tax payer large amounts of
money because we will no longer buy from Govt. auctions.

I must also say that a number of us have ceased buying at that auction
because of the same problem you are having. Many more can expect to get
those letters in the future I was told.
GUD Luck!
