The local Sony dealer in Calgary checked his web site and told me it's
discontinued. Old inventory seems to be the only solution.

Yeah, I read somewhere, maybe on Radiointel.com that with the 7600
Sony would be exiting the shortwave market. *Changing markets, etc.,
I'm sure figures high on the list.

Yup...I'm wishing and waiting and hoping they will be more than
vaporware. We've seen pictures so there is at least one in China!!
