I was hoping that some may be able email me a pdf copy of the C42
Radio Set manual and ideally a copy of the schematic. I know these
things are bit rare!

Have you tried Google search? I did and found some good info. While
not in PDF format, there was one good source in .jpg format of the manual
at: http://users.monash.edu.au/~ralphk/C42.html
