I don't know about ghosts, but there maybe other factors to consider.
Sailors aren't nearly as superstitious as they were years ago, because they
are more educated today. However when things maybe going badly, their
psyche could be negatively influenced. If you are the unfortunate sailor at
sea in an extremely challenging situation, knowing that your ship is made of
steel from a building that was repeatedly attacked by and finally destroyed
by terrorists, your mind may subconsciously be telling you that this is
history repeating itself and you are doomed.

If this steel would have be used for a large span bridge and was advertised
as such to the public, I would also predict that any catastrophes or
accidents incurred on that bridge would be eventually be associated with the
steel's origin. It could add to drivers' anxiety and perhaps even cause
more accidents.

It would have been better just to distribute the steel throughout the
country, or better yet, sell it to the Arabs for one of their own
skyscrapers. Perhaps then, if their building collapsed due to an earth
quake or other natural disaster, it would be a fitting end to this horrible
chapter in history.

My 2 cents.

Those POS buildings were a collapse waiting to happen. No traditional
framework; Mohammad Atta studied architecture.
