"F" Connectors ?
Hi,
Thanks for all the previous help.
Realize they are all pretty basic questions, and appreciate the help very
much.
Am in my 70's now, and keeping up with a lot of this stuff is getting to be
a bit more difficult. Greatr hobby, though.
For a receive-only run to a scanner. I'm assuming that I am interested in
up to one GHz, absolute max.
Expect to go with F connectors on the coax as they are so readily available
already made up, and relatively inexpensive.
Anyone feel strtongly that it is worth going the BNC or the N route, or can
I probably be happy with the F's ?
About a 50 foot run. In practice, would I even see any difference ?
I plan on RG6U, Quad Shield, probably
Saw it at Lowe's of all places. Brand was Philips.
Looked pretty good (I think); gold plated F's, and quad shielding.
Thoughts on ?
Just as a sidelight, I also have a sw set, and have all N and BNC on my PAR
antenna to the sw set run, though.
LMR 400 coax used. About 125 ft run here.
Thanks,
Bob
