Mr. Thompson's push raises a counterintuitive possibility: The world's
oldest and largest public broadcaster may emerge as a pioneer of new
ways of delivering TV news and entertainment.
TV is fine for eye candy, but radio is king for news.
A local TV station here has made its switch to digital. One of its
digital TV streams is a 24 hour news stream. The audio from this
stream is also simulcast over a local over the air AM Broadcast
station, kind of merging the two. Which begs the question........."Is
it real or is it Memorex".
The requirement for pictures often inhibits dynamic coverage.
