Rebuilding/Restore Browning MarkIII

Hello Mark:
I have rebuilt only a few radios and such. I replace all the
electrolytic capacitors, and check all the resistors.
There only a couple of tubes in the modulator circuit, so may not be too
hard to replace them Good luck.
There should be a voltage chart they gives you all the voltages for
transmit and stby modes. That is always a help.

Had a relative pass away and have been going through his radio
equipment. I'm working on bring his Mark III back to life, seems the
receiver is working but transmitter is going to need some work. The
output power seems fine but modulation is only about 30% if you're
right into the mike. Forget about the ping, with this low modulation
it ain't going to happen, at least that's what I'm thinking.
Any rebuild pointers from anyone that has worked with these Brownings?
Thanks
Jay,
Thanks for the suggestions , went searching the web today and found
schematics for both so that's a welcome find. Oh note, found a friend of
mine that has 3 of these, turns out the mic with the one I have is the
whole problem. swapped mics and the modulation came right up like it
should. So looks like finding a HI Z mic is the first order of business
along with making a shopping list for the caps. From what my aunt
remembers, this radio hasn't been turned on for several years so I'm
kind of surprised it didn't go up in a puff of smoke when I powered it
up. Sure wished I'd know that before. Oh well, sometimes you get lucky!
